Hooker News from Rita

1. Patti, Dorothy and I taught a mini- class of 7 ladies at the Marr Residence last Saturday. The 3 of us, plus BettyAnn, made up kits.

2. We have 11 people planning to go to the retreat. We have room for a few more.

3. I would like this new blog to serve as a handbook for members as well as a source of information for prospective members. So far, I have listed resources such as what we sell and loan, Canadian shops, Saskatoon Public library books, etc. There will be a gallery of our rugs and info about Prairie Harvest School. I would like to hear your ideas and encourage anyone to share the writing task.

4. The photos of our rugs have been sent to England for the display. I used the ones we took for Jesse's book plus the ones of people holding their rug.

5. This week we will have the' transferring designs using an overhead' demo. The meetings have been hectic, so this has been delayed.

6. The consensus was that we should continue using the room we have at Sherbrooke. We will try to free up more space by rearranging tables.

7. Does anyone want to host a hook-in in April?

Topics for Tuesday, March 24, 7:00 pm:
Should we give Ron an honorarium for all his help with the photography?
Should there be a budget for prizes at the retreat?
Should we participate in the Exhibition?
Should we ask to be part of the Heritage Day showcase at the Western Development Museum?
Are we donating to Sherbrooke?

  1. A big thanks to Rita for doing such a good job keeping all the rug hookers informed, and for organizing the mini meetings for us. Also for organizing the retreat and the Heritage Day showcase at the WDM.
